Does lotion -> oily skin -> pimples?

Everyone's always told me that the reason for pimples/acne was dirty or oily skin. I've been lucky in my teen life to not have any major breakouts but my teen years aren't over and i'd like to avoid pimples at all cost. Does putting lotion on my face cause pimples to form or is the oil from the lotion good oil? And if it does cause pimples, how do you keep your skin not-peeling-dry but not too oily at the same time...

Depends on the source of the information. To my knowledge, it is caused by clogged skin pores; they can simply get clogged by skin oils, or by bacteria. I don't know that any amount of washing can get rid of these things, as they are being produced constantly. Try searching WebMD for info on this.

wow, there's a lot of info on skin treatment there. After reading all the articles I got the impression that chocalate and foods aren't proven to cause acne, sitting in the sun can help, and oily skin isn't necessarily the cause of it. However they did say greasy makeup can contribute to that and now i'm wondering if lotion falls into that category, heh
