For all of those who went through College and have had at least a few years experience in the work force ---- does life just change after College?

6 months ago, I lived in a completely different area, driving around late at night with my buddies, in my apartment making drunken pancakes, throwing things off my balcony, skipping class, etc. etc.

Now, I've graduated and moved about two hours away, but have somewhat of the same kind of apartment.... but I realize I don't really do these things anymore. The drunken pancakes, wild parties, etc. have all pretty much stopped.

Is this normally what happens once one graduates? Just curious to know other people's opinions.

hate to be the grammar nazi but its life not live
because:
live is a verb
and life is a noun

Yeah. When you get a job, you become responsible. Not necessarily because you want to, but because you make more money and have more job security that way. The next 5-10 years lay the groundwork for the rest of your career....until you go back to school or get certified in something else and start your second career.

Having money for hte first time ever is nice. Spending $2K on a moutnain bike in hindsight was stupid. And hte $2K TV ... that was dumb.

Life does change ... jsut be fruggle ;)

Wait till marriage ... that's when life realy changes. College -> real world ... that nothing.

No, not really. They're just spaced out more now that I have responsibilities other than showing up in a building for five hours a day four days a week. I still go out with friends a few times a month and hang out with friends every weekend (/me waves to Hotchic, Linuxboy, and Zenmervolt), but I might go home at 11PM instead of 2AM.

Life changes and I think that's a good thing. Part of being a productive, responsible member of society is learning to accept the responsibilities of being an adult. I love my life, even though it's busy, because I find value in the work I do.

Then don't spend your time there.

If you evaluate your life experiences according to what other people think is appropriate, you'll never be truly happy. Find a group of people you enjoy and spend time with them, doing things you enjoy, and ignore what everybody else says.

that would be what the freshmen and sophmores do. You should be out getting crazy drunk at the bars.

Yeah, pretty much. Now instead of getting drunk and running around with a reel mower mowing the lawn in the middle of the night, I mow the lawn with a riding mower on Saturday afternoons. :(

Edit: Closest I came to "college life" after I graduated was my bachelor party.

Yes, and it sucks. Thats why I went to grad school. Unfortunately, I was stupid, and choose law school.

Besides study load, how different is grad school from undergrad? partying-wise.

1. When I was in grad school, I heard this second-hand anecdote from a friend: In the biology department, male TAs for bio classes were sometimes offered sex for giving passing scores on exams from desparate female pre-meds who had to keep their GPA up.

2. If you are planning to go to grad school and still hit on girls, attend grad school right after undergrad so you can still pass as an undergrad at parties (if necessary).
