Hi !
If I have linux installed on a certain HD in an Athlon 600 system, can I just swap the drive on a new 2 GHZ + system with all new components ? how does Linux reacts to these changes ? Will it autodetect everything ?

Thanks

Thor

If your using the Kernel that came with your distribution, and didnt make a custom one specifically for the Athlon 600 system, I wouldnt expect there to be any problems.

Nice !
So, I could install the latest mandrake version, configure everything with ADSL connections, and then simply place the HD on my new computer and it should redetect everything and work optimally ?

Yep. Linux is a lot better with this sort of thing than windows is. If somthing doesn't work, it will probably be somthing minor and easy to fix.
