Just because it supports DDR400 doesn't mean it will work with that particular ram. Not that it won't, but support for a type of ram doesn't necessarilly mean support for a brand of ram. Take for instance my particular board, which is an ASUS A7N8X Rev 2 Nforce2 board. It has problems running certain brands of ram, and also most cheap ram. Hyperx is very good ram, but my particular board doesn't usually like it at all and most times won't run with it. Mine did, but I got lucky, and it won't run with 2 256mb sticks, only 2x512 sticks, so I had to take the initial 256mb sticks I bought back to the store and get 512 to test them and see if they would work, which luckily they did. The next guy that tries the exact same combination may have totally different results, so what i'm saying is that some boards are VERY finicky with ram, and support for a standard isn't support for a brand.
