Does it take time (days?) for Windows to become un-activated, once changing mobos?

I'm a little confused. I have this 30GB SSD, that was on one of my Q9300 / P35 boards, and was activated, using a key that I was using my my two Q9300 rigs. Then I moved that HD, to my new X6 rig, and it said it needed to be activated. I used a spare Win7 FP key that I still had, and activated on that hardware. Now I moved that SSD to an E-350 rig that I've had a while back, and it still says ... "activated". Strange. I do have a key that works for this rig, that has already been activated on the E-350, but that key has never been entered into this SSD that I know of.
