Does it really matter what brand of floppy drive i get?

Only Sony are trully compatible with 3.5" floppies 🙂

Just kidding. Buy any brand, the cheapest drive.
 
I say Mitsumi b/c they're always that right shade of white for the case and always have a green LED (sometimes with others you'll get red or orange. yuk).
 
The choice of a floppy drive can make or break a system.

It can cause a bottleneck so severe that it throttles the entire video and audio subsystem.

It can throttle your cpu by the throat until it chokes to death.

It can cause a foul odor that visitors will notice as soon as they walk in the room.

It can alienate friends and family.

On the other hand, a good choice of a floppy drive can impress co-workers and lead to fast promotion.

It is a chick magnet.

It will make you feel 10 years younger, and help you to lose those unwanted pounds.

Choose well. It is a choice you will have to live with for the rest of your floppy drive's life, which is normally 1000 years.
 
Only get IBM floppy drives.

Do it or go to Hell.

You know if you pick the wrong one, your Athlon won't overclock as well, seeing as their both linked. 😀

So get a Sony, you gotta trust the little alien guy. He wouldn't lie to you! Would he? 😀
