from my previous thread... i said that it seems like no one wants to hire/give me a research opportunity because of the way i look/dress.

i called up two places in the zoology department about researching with them ... and both places told me to stop by tomorrow. Is it easy to land a position in the undergrad research opportunity? I don't have to dress up right? hopefully,... they let me participate in the research thing.... even if i don't get paid at least i'll have some experience to put on my resume now...

Anytime you have an interview, dress for an interview. For something like this, don't wear a suit but dress nicely, nice slacks, button up shirt.

Why do you think people are affected by the way you look/dress? What do you normally look like?

maybe it's all in my head.... but i feel like the way i look, it seems like people can't trust me or something.

It's so damn hot here... i would much rather wear just shorts and a t-shirt. I don't think they want to see me all dressed up sweating my ass off.

I would dress up some. Just because you will be working in a casual environment, you should assume you can wear casual clothes for first impression. Not neccessarily a suit and tie, but at least slacks, tie w nice shirt or polo....
