Does it make any diff how my drives are attached to my raid controller?

I just got a shiny sleek kt7-raid, and as I was putting it into my new case, I started thinking that there are benefits to setting up a burner-HDD combo on seperate ide ports. I wonder if the same goes for my raid setup? Does it make any diference if I set two hard drives up on one cable, or should I set up each drive on a seperate one? Would that use up an extra IRQ?

Seperate them -- If I remember right IDE only lets 1 dirve per cable work at one time. Also, it depends on the conroller if the secondary channel is on it's own IRQ.. does it mattetr though? Let things share and see if it works.
