I got me a 7600GS. It has VGA and DVI as does my LCD monitor.

I'm lazy so I just used an existing VGA. Looks fine.

Am I gonna see an improvement if I plug in my DVI? I hear they're the same, or some cases VGA is better.

I tried both when I first got my LCD and I didn't notice a difference. I just use DVI because it's supposed to be better.

That's what the digital conspiracy wants you to think.

I prefer the warmer analog sound from a vinyl d-sub connection to the harsh, metallic digital bits of DVI. That's also why my LCD panel uses vacuum tubes for the backlighting.

What resolution are you running at? If it's only at 1280x1024, there really won't be any difference between VGA and DVI.
