Does it hurt your credit rating to open a new bank account?

I'm thinking about opening a Free Checking account at BankOne because their online banking is so slick and fast and intuitive. I currently have checking and savings accounts at TCF Bank here in Ann Arbor. I know they look at your credit score when you open a new account, so will it hurt my credit rating to have 3 or four bank accounts open at the same time? I eventually want to close the TCF account, but I'll leave it open until I get my direct deposit all straightened out.

All banks normally check is to see if you are listed in ChexSystems and sometimes Telecheck. ChexSystems is a clearinghouse that banks use amongst themselves to list people who had their accounts closed due to problems.

Some banks run a regular credit check if you apply for a Visa/MC Check card but many of don't anymore.

Along that line, which bank has the best online banking? I've looked at all the demos and it looks like BankOne.
