Remember during the Speech on Febuary 26th when bush said he'd have a UN vote on a new resolution "to see where they stand" but now has reniged on the promise he made? This is'nt the first lie bush tells us. And it's not a serious lie but is honesty even cared about anymore by us rupbs/dems alike so long as it meets our politcal objectives? We seem very dismisive of holding politicians accountable for what they say.

No, I don't. He never said he was going to absolutely get a new resolution, he said he was looking to get one, and maybe would get one.

I can't find the quote but he did say we would have a vote either way.

politicians lie.

So basically what you're saying is nothing the government tells us can be taken for granted without independant verification. One can't have it both ways. Trusting when it fits our ideals and not trusting when it does'nt. So I guess my next question is can we believe any of the stated objectives and proof they have offered over 12 years?

it makes me mad that bush went to the un

Yup..

The UN is a bunch of flying pink pansies wearing nothing but daisies sucking on lollipops ignorant of the stuff outside.

Ya ya we know the UN is a bunch of sissies, however, once you choose this route back in 91' and continue till today I think you owe an obligation to complete it along those lines. No? The UN was very beneficial to us in paying for the effort and with a little help militarly and now to show our gradtitude for thier sacrifices we say fusk off?

I believe they had plans to call a vote on a new resolution this week, but they did cancel that vote when France vowed to veto "any" new resolution, correct? That's what I heard anyway. Why take a vote when you're guaranteed to be vetoed?

France had said they would veto any resolution guaranteeing the use of force.

It's not a lie, you need to change your mind sometimes when the circumstances change, utherwise you would be a fool.

"to see where they stand" and "we're calling them out" and those types of nice colloquial sayings Bush is fond of using, to mean we want it in writting. Why not is a better question since he said he would.

Chiraq made it clear that he would veto ANY resolution. The purpose of the forcing a vote was to get members of the security council to show their cards.

The French have already showed theirs so what's the point.

President Bush has made this clear. You're just not listening.
