Does Intel have chipset drivers like Via does?

I went to the Intel site looking for chipset drivers and I didn't find any. I was wondering if Intel updated their's at all. Our family computer is running the drivers that came with Win98SE.

They usually dont update as much except for the newer i81x/i82x. You rarely need update because intel's driver are decently good.

Keep in mind, those drivers are really only intended to update the on-board graphics...

<< Note: Do not install the graphics drivers for Intel 815/815E chipsets on a system that has an AGP video card installed or on a system based on the Intel® 815EP chipset. The integrated graphics of the Intel 815/815E chipsets is disabled when an AGP video card is installed. >>

Systems based on Intel chipsets need two drivers to be fully updated: The latest INF update and the latest Intel Busmaster ATA Storage Driver. This contrasts with the single 4-in-1 driver necessary for VIA systems. Unfortuantely, Microsoft has historically not comitted to doing the same driver legwork for VIA as they do for Intel, meaning that the Windows default Intel chipset drivers usually work fine, while the VIA ones need to be updated for maximum performance.

Intel does have INF updates for Win2000, but due to Win2000's "system file protection", they don't install.

Depends on the chipset. If you are talking BX, all modern Windows versions have the drivers included. If you are talking 815, only Win ME has them. If you have Win9x, NT, 2000, you have to put in the 815 inf files. You only need to put in the onboard video drivers if you use it. The Intel ATA100 drivers should be avoided. The Microsoft IDE drivers work better than the Intel ATA100 drivers.

Thanks for the link. I looked through Intel's page, but I was looking at their motherboards page and not their chipsets pages.
