Does IKEA ship?

im almost positive they dont ship, but theyll deliver to like 50 miles from any store for (i think) a flat rate. Check their site.

I'd just go to the store if it isn't too much trouble. You're bound to find more stuff that you want, IKEA has a lot of cool stuff for decent prices.

I don't know if they either ship or deliver, but i do know it is insanely expensive whichever they do.

Yes they Ship:
Shipping Costs

I tried to price a bed frame shipped to me, but it wouldn't tell me the cost before placing the order. I may call them tomorrow.

They do but it is very expensive. You will most likely wind up paying more for shipping than the actual item.

Shipping is very very expensive on only on certain items.

I recently did delivery with the IKEA in Stoughton (20 min outside Boston). This is how it works:

You go to the store and buy everything you need (CALL ahead for items, they are NOT always in stock). Buy everything then wheel the stuff to the home delivery center. They charge 100 bux for up to 20-something flat boxes or 3 couches or something. They won't ship the small little odds and ends you buy, only things that come in flat boxes basically. You set the day and contract the delivery to be made. I think they have a 100 mile range. Obviously this only works if you can get to an ikea, and I'm sure every ikea varies from each other with their rules. This ikea is freakin PACKED with people on the weekends.

they have the worst service ever, I tried ordering some bed parts and the website shopping never even
worked and the phone service left me on hold for hours.

Ikea furniture?
I only buy odds and ends and the cute little things ikea sells, but the quality of their larger items is horrible.

I've seen bookshelves bend, wardrobes lose their colour, and cupboards that nearly broke from regular usage.

I'm not sure whether an ikea bed is worth the money. Might as well top up the little bit more and get a decent one.

Yes, they can deliver to you. Just call the closest IKEA store and place a phone order. They have a schedule of shipping costs they'll share with you. It's not exactly cheap....but if you're buying a bed w/no way to get it home...well, just suck it up! 😀

Yeah they do ship. For me I just went to the store and bought a bed. When I asked about the charge, they said it was a flat shipping fee (mine was around 69 bucks) for up to 15 boxes I think. That or up to several couches like the previous poster said.

I went ahead and stocked up on some other stuff I was going to buy anyways and include in the delivery since it's a flat charge. I pretty much bought my entire bedroom that day (bed, mattress, computer desk, glass shelving unit, 2 book case, and my room mate bought a dinning room set (small table w/ 4 chairs) to include in it). It made our lives a lot easier to have them deliver. The guys that delivered were cool too.. I think Ikea contracts out their deliveries because the truck that came didn't have any Ikea logos on it and they guys didn't wear any ikea uniforms.
