hey guys im contemplating on buying a diamond back razer mouse, but there 75 bucks after tax and i have to buy a new PSU and i want to buy a DS so im wondering if they really do make that much of a difference, its def nice looking and will go with my set up but im really comfortable with my intelli mouse but spec wise i know nothing of it, does having 1600 dpi or whatever really make that much of a difference in games? does it improve frames some how?

In general, your mouse will have virtually no difference in your gameplay. The most it would do is give you very slightly more response when playing first-person shooters, but the difference will be so minimal that it won't even be worth the large amount of money. It will have exactly zero effect on your framerate; that's controlled mainly by CPU speed, memory, and video card. Spend the money on a high-quality power supply instead (none of that generic crap that's popular these days, find something nice with enough clean power coming off of it).

I think it makes a huge difference. I recently made the switch to a Razer Diamondback Plasma and now I can't stand using anything less than 1600 dpi. In fact, I am going to order another Plasma tonight for my other gaming machine.

It's a little strange at first because the pointer speed will feel a lot faster, but once you get the hang of it you'll wonder how you ever managed with your old mouse. At least, I do.

BTW, they're only $55 on eBay.

hmm, well i dont know anymore, like my rig is pretty pimped out right now and having a mouse is really just a luxury, it hink ill buy a nice power supply, prob is today i unmounted my PSU and lifted it adn it was soo light then i took my old 350 watt enermax and it was HEAVY! i called my comp techincian and told him how light it was he said its prob either crap or not even 550 watts, cuz i think its mainl done, when i play games it either stutters or craps out in general and completly goes BLUE and makes a LOUD HIGH PITCH sound which makes it seems liek its not givin enough juice.

for a long time i thought fancy mice were all about luxury too until i bought and used my Razer for a day. i was very skeptical at first and i was tempted to go back to my old Microsoft mouse but i am so glad i stuck it through. my hand already feels better from not having to move nearly as much on the mousepad. it might be my imagination, but the pointer sure does feel more precise. no pixel skips if you know what i mean...

well when my mouse man dual optical started wiggin out (i had it for 3 years) i got the mx510 and damn i just dont start spinning in cs for no reason any more, so i say yes gettin a good mouse will help your accuracy in fps's
