Does having 2 Software DVD players still cause problems?

I remember this used to be the case a year ago w/ the old cinemaster and powerdvd, but perhaps things have changed now w/ the new software? I am running winme w/ WinDVD 2.3 now. I just got a copy of PowerDVD 3.0 w/ my new audiophile 2496 and I want to compare it w/ windvd... I'm just afraid that installing it might cause problems and screw up BOTH programs. Anyone try this with success?
 
I have used WinDVD, PowerDVD, and Xing DVD players and haven't had a problem. Of course I can't say it will be fine for everyone else.
