Does GTX 260 and 280 support CSAA?

Just wondering if the new GTX 260 and GTX 280 support CSAA or if that is limited to the 8 series cards

It works fine. nHancer had some issues enabling it on those cards when they came out, but the new version of it fixes that.

If I'm not mistaken, you are probably thinking about the Combined mode AA (8xS etc.). CSAA is coverage sampling, and is supported out of the box for 8-series onward via the NVIDIA CP (8xQ, 16xQ).

Yeah, the control panel has always supported those modes. I was in fact talking about the CSAA modes (the xQ ones), which nHancer orginally wouldn't allow on the GTX cards since it did not recognize them as supporting it. This is no longer an issue though.

I am talking about csaa that is supported with the 8800gt. I use it rather then 4xmsaa in games such as grid and was wondering if I would still have the option with a gtx 260 or 280

Yes, all CSAA modes are fully supported.

well I just picked up a evga gtx 260 for $220 after rebates with crysis and some cash back through live search! I can't wait to overclock this thing and see whats available for the step-up. I normally wouldn't even consider the step-up, but a lot of new cards seem to be in the making

The die shrink GTX 280 successor would be a good step-up if it comes out fast enough and the MSRP isn't ridiculous (since that is what you have to pay the difference to).
