Does golden and/or super orb come with thermal grease?

i think it comes with PCTC(phase-change thermal compound) which is a one-time use thing. and as for removing the old grease, take a lint-free cloth and some rubbing alcohol 🙂
 
my gorb came with thermal paste pre-applied. cleaned it off & used arctic silver. they may be using pads now though.
like toph99 said, the cpu core can be cleaned with rubbing alcohol!
 
i think it is the golden orb which comes with actual compound, and the chrome orbs which come with the pads(AMD requires them to be approved) but i could be wrong 😛
 
Ok...so I went out and picked up my golden orb...brought it home and opened it up, and nooo, the guy gave me a chrome orb for Socket 462, not the golden orb socket 370....I called him up and asked him wtf is up with this, I asked for Golden Orb for a Socket 370 CPU. He said it will work fine...so I was like "Yeah, ok whatever...".

So...is he full of crap? or will it work just fine?

BTW..this chrome orb has a yellow pad it looks like, and thanks for the tip on the rubbing alcohol.
