Does God hate homosexuality?

Does He hate homosexuality?

Yet he loves the homosexuals?

How come certain religious people and groups don't like gays? Certainly these people and groups do exist.

I'm confused as to why there isn't a uniform standard when the Bible haven't changed in a long time.

I know you are just trolling but to be informative:

God love the sinner, hates the sin.

I love my friends, but when they lie to me or are assholes to me I don't love that they did that.

I don't know about "Religious" people, but anyone seeking Christ loves homosexuals as much as they love themself, their family, their best friends.

According to the old testament, Sodom and Gomorrah were destroyed for the sin of homosexuality. (there's more to this, a whole story about the only survivors of Sodom being told to leave by angels who had descended to earth to tell them. the residents of sodom decide they want to rape the angels, the owner of the house offers his daughters to the mob, but the mob refuses. (refuses to rape some girls versus raping some dudes...yeah...) and so on.)

according to the new testament, god loves everybody.

there ends my overly simplified summary of Christianity's views on homosexuality.

personally i think you should try harder on flamebaiting.

He hates the sin, which is homosexuality, but does not hate the homos as they are still his people and he loves us all regardless of being sinners.

This thread went surprisingly well.

No doubt disappointing that twat OP. everyone another troll thwarted.

FUCK YEAH, because a story that involves a snake convincing a nude chick to give her hippie boyfriend (no job, no tie, no grooming) an apple, which then enrages their landlord and triggers the "no apple" clause in their lease, so he evicts them -- no 30 day notice or nuttin' -- is what I base my entire view of contemporary life on, too. 😛

Biblical literalist answer:

There are several places in the old and new testament that very straightforwardly declare the behavior of homosexuality to be abhorrent to God. It is very clearly cast as a behavior in those contexts, not as a trait that is inherent to an individual. Biblical literalists consider homosexual behavior to be a choice within the control of the individual and do not see any problem or contradiction with both condemning it and offering help in recovering and avoiding it.

In regards to your question about why Christians behave with hate towards those that they say God instructs them to love, I can only answer that all people, religious and non-religious, do not always act as they profess to believe. Prejudice, fear and hatred are inherent traits in human beings and will always interfere with their ability to adhere to what they consider themselves to believe.

NO. Jesus was totally gay.

whether or not you agree with that, you can read everything Jesus is ever reputed to say, in any version of the bible, and Jesus never hates on homosexuals. the only person that does is Paul.

Paul never knew Jesus. Paul isn't a real apostle (b/c Jesus was dead long before Paul even became a "Christian.") The biggest bigot of the Bible is further from Jesus than even a guy like Dawkins.

Mmm, but to disregard Paul you have to take on the canonization of Scripture and the methodology used to determine it (by such involved parties as Origen, for instance). An argument on that level becomes futile, in my opinion, because of our distance from the source.

If we were going to have to have the argument, you would have to take into account that Paul was accepted as an apostle and his teachings were validated by such first person sources as Peter, James and John, apostles who were with Jesus directly. They did not speak out against his teaching, and when and where they did it was both documented and you can follow the arguments and ultimate resolutions.

The safest argument is to argue the fallability of scripture; if you disagree with the premise that scripture is infallible it doesn't matter what you think of Jesus or Paul or anyone. If you consider scripture as infallible then you must make the argument against the inclusion of Paul's writings in scripture. Do you consider scripture to be infallible?

There is considerable doubt that all of the writings attributed to Paul were actually done by him. Paul himself was quite possibly a Gnostic, and thus his writings may very well have been "adapted" to fit the nascent Church's agenda.
