Right on, just wondering. There are a bunch of different types right? Like gas, spring loaded etc?

It's a rubber pellet at fair speeds. It's a sharp pain for just a moment, really.

depends, my friends gun shoots extremely fast (as in fps, not rpm) and he can put holes through drywall.

other guns really cant do much, but just hit you and sting, if you have any sort of baginess the pellet just stops and doesnt hurt.

If it's at a pretty close distance, it'll range from a sting to actually breaking the skin (if it hits you where you aren't wearing any clothing). Otherwise it'll normally just be a slight sting and you're done. If it's one of the better guns, you damn well better believe it's gonna hurt like a biatch!

I've only been hit with smoke hits and spark hits which explode on impact from an airsoft gun; those don't do more than sting for a 'sec.

It really depends on the gun. If you get a cheap spring gun, it probably won't hurt (at least not much). However, gas or electric guns will probably hurt.

Like others have said, it will depend on the gun.

Also baggy clothing will greatly reduce the pain since the pellets have very little kinetic energy due to their light wieght. Not that it diminishes the effects of emptying a clip into the back of some unsuspecting enemy's head (with helmet), the resulting yelp is very satisfying.

And actually, a good quality spring hurts even more than gas.

yea like some say, depending on the power of the gun as well as the weight of the BB, it can string a tad or even injure you. It all depends....

I vaguely remember watching a special on TV about the dangers of BB guns. Of course, it probably depends on the guns and where it hits, but quite a few kids get killed IIRC.

A good pellet gun can penetrate 2" of soft tissue. You can easily kill squirrels and birds with one. I don't know about "quite a few" kids being killed with them, but it does happen occasionally.
