Does Gateway knock prices off phone calls like Dell does?

Looking to order a basic laptop, comes up to about $1175, but after ground shipping & taxes it's $1,300...kinda lame. Do Gateway reps go down on the price if you call in?

Dell charges for shipping?

EDIT: I ordered a system from them this morning, and they say 8-10 business days until it arrives. I didn't think to ask, but can I pay more to have them ship sooner?

I wasnt aware you could haggle with any corporation as large as Dell :Q

Depends, if it's a custom system they may take extra build time in addition to shipping. Like my estimated ship date is the 26th and shipping is just Ground.

My estimated date was like, the 9th, IIRC.

On a bargain basement system, no. But on a mid-high end system, they can be flexible.
