Just Wondering. Newegg lists what I think are fortron power supplies as FSP Group (Fortron Source) then all the info.

i remember reading somewhere that it's not. like the cheap 300w's are advertised as fortron on newegg but it's actually not. maybe its from a newegg review.

Yes, FSP = Fortron. The cheaper ones, the ATX-xxx models, are not of the same quality as the FSP-xxx models, regardless of whetehr Fortron actually makes them.

Fortron makes several lines of PSUs. The ones that have the good rep. are the ones with FSP in the model number. Sparkle is another division of the FSP Group too and most of the PSUs are sold under both names but each label also has some exclusive models. FSP = Fortron Source Products.
. Plus there are a ton of Fortron rebadges but the model no. usually isn't changed so you can tell by the FSP in the model number).
. I haven't heard anything terribly bad about their budget line either. It goes by Power Q and several other brands.

.bh.

FSP also equals in many cases: Verax, Conrad, Zalman, AOpen, FSP, Fortron, SPI, Powertech, PowerMAN, Sparkle. Just look for the FSP in the name. It's not always there, but it WILL be inside the case somewhere if it is based of of the FSP unit.

FSP also designs the Silencer Series for PC Power and Cooling, and used to be the deigner/manufacturer for ALL of the PC P & C line.
