Does fresh pizza freeze very well?

For whatever reason the frozen pizzas around here are expensive, like $4 apiece just for a crappy one. I figure for $1 more a pizza, I might as well get a Domino's pizza. I can't eat that much pizza in a few days though, so I figured I might freeze the rest. Will it microwave well like frozen bagels do, or not really?

Put it in the fridge rather than freezing it. Freezing will pull the water out of it, making it hard and chewy.

I'm missing the point... You don't want a crappy frozen pizza for $4, yet you're willing to buy a Domino's pizza and freeze it? Wouldn't that result in crappy pizza for $5??

Ohhhhhhhh, I get it... you don't realize Dominos pizza sucks..... Gotcha.

FYI, you should get Little Caesar's pizza if you're going to store and reheat. It is the only pizza that tastes better after it has been reheated. A helluva lot better than any frozen pizza I've ever had, and you can get an 18" for about $11.

We only have one Domino's locally, but they have some of the best pizza in town. Better than Pizza Hut or the other places, by far.

Damn, lucky you.

Still, nothing like a freakin' huge-ass pizza that takes up an entire bucket seat on the drive home. :p

Definitely. I'd take a Dominoes Pizza over a Pizza Hut or Pizza Pizza anyday.

The free sex from Pizzaville is hard to beat though.

Fridge if it's only going to sit for a day, Freezer in a good freezer bag if it's going to sit longer than a day.

The Little Caesar's establishments in Alaska parted ways with the corporate bigwigs, and are now owned by someone in-state, and are designated The Great Alaska Pizza Company. Little Caesar's is planning to try and open some new places up here to compete, while TGAPC is going to be opening stores down in the Lower '48. :p They have good pizza, but Domino's is just amazing. Super fast delivery, with cheese so hot it will scald the roof of your mouth when you bite into it. I count that as a good thing in a delivered pizza. ;)

Although once, when we were having one delivered to Maetryx's place up on campus, the delivery-person drove their car into an enclosed courtyard of the married student housing complex to find the apartment. The snow was so deep that there was no visible different between the walking path and the dirt road, and the walk-under at the corners of the complex was car-width. It was rather bizarre to see a vehicle in there, though.

You don't have like....pizza shops run by those "Ay-talian" people?
I guess I'm so used to living in an area with a sizable Italian population...I think my little town has more Italian restaurants than single family homes.

Fridge is no good, when I've tried that with Papa John's it's nasty after a few days.

I guess for $15 I'm not out too much if it doesn't work.

The only Little Caesar's close to me is inside a K-mart. That seems a little suspicious. :p

Boy, that's not exactly a ringing endorsement of the taste when it's fresh. Maybe that can be their next ad slogan "Sucks less when reheated!!"

Dominoes, Pizza Hut and Little Caesar's are all pretty bad. The only good pizza comes from the local pizza joints, not the national chains.
