Does FEDEX allow you to pick up your package before their first delivery attempt?

I know UPS doesn't. My FEDEX packaged got to the local delivery facility at 7:00am this morning because newegg is like 30 minutes away. Online tracking shows they don't intend to deliver it today just because I paid for cheaper shipping. Can i just go down to the facility (10 minutes away) to pick it up? I can't find a telephone # directly connecting me to the local facility or else I'd just call them up and ask.

Why don't you call the national number? They have the local numbers on file if they can't answer the question for you.

Actually, maybe not. Normally they do, but since the first delivery attempt won't be until Monday, it is probably still containerized. They won't take it out until over the weekend. I tried to go in on a Saturday when a similar situation occurred, and that is what I was told. Normally during the week you can, but there is a chance that since it isn't supposed to be delivered until Monday that they won't have it out of the shipping container yet.

I'm pretty sure you can call them and have the package held for pickup. I've done it beofre, but it was after the first delivery attempt. Call their national number and they will connect you with the local office.

Yeah screw the internet, telephones, and ways to make life easier. I should just walk down there by foot while I'm at it.

Nope. I have tried on multiple occasions. I was told that FedEx has a contract with the shipper (in my case NewEgg) and they must attempt at least one delivery before they will release it at the hub.

I think you can if you let newegg know that you plan to pick it up at the terminal. Its like a willcall at the fedex terminal
