Winner to a degree.

All shippers provide SOME form of boxes, however they have been known to require specific service levels.

IE: Next Day Air Box - 2nd day air box, etc. Cant be used with ground.

I've used FedEx Boxes with UPS Ground and UPS Boxes With Fedex Ground.

That way. Its legal. :p

I bet it's still fraud, and unethical at the least. Even I'm not that much of a cheap bastard.

Unethical, maybe. But who's to say that it's not a USED box that someone already shipped to you and you just want to recycle it? In that case, it would be unethical to the environment to just throw it away and not recycle for reshipment.

USPS will not let you use a FedEx box to ship Priority or any special rate. They won't let you use a Priority box for anything but priority. If you have an account, you can get FedEx boxes for everything, BUT ground. They don't have ground boxes. You can only use a nonFedEx box for ground. You can also get USPS supplies (and tape) free from their site. They'll even deliver it to your house. You can use USPS boxes for almost any FedEx service. Hope all that helps.:)

True, I guess I should have pointed that out. When I fill out my forms for USPS priority boxes, they say that use besides Priority mail constitutes fraud, and "may" be a federal crime. They will send the black helocopters after me. I guess "illegal" was the wrong word. I have turned them inside out before though, and used them for regular mail. Expecialy the die cut boxes for Tapes and CD's. But now they are printing "USPS" all over the inside of them to prevent this. Bastages! :p

The 12 x 12 bokes turn inside out real nice. :)

its illegal to use the usps free boxes for anything but what the graphic on the box says.

fedex will tape the box for you if it needs it, they all will (because a lot of people do a crappy job at taping)
