The agony of not knowing when to spend that 2K on your next PC?

One day it's I'm going to start buying today...
The next day it's "Well, some loser on Anandtech says the dual-cores come out in July, so maybe I should wait"
Then the next day its "Screw it! I want a PC now!"

Bleh.

So yeah...when do them dual-cores come out?

Nope. But I've never been an early adopter, so I don't worry about what's coming out next. What came six months ago is fine with me.

Yeah, If you rush to get the latest technology, how do you not know a month or two later something alot better is gonig to come out that will be a break through in technology?

You don't so its best to wait. AND SAVE UP!

rather than wait for dualcores, buy a 939/pci-e board now as well as a cheaper venice/winchester core athlon64 proc for the interim.

The other parts don't matter so much, so buy them as you see good deals: hard drives, case, power supplie, soundcard, ram, etc. Do lots of research on your video-card if you're building a gaming machine of any kind, and then look & wait for the good deals (or just rush in and buy one if you need a system now).

$2000 will buy you a lot of computer regardless of if you wait or buy today. cpu's & video cards will be the items to look around for a deal on, and maybe wait a week or 3 to see if new deals come about. Other than that, just buy the other parts now.
