Does every place in NY close at 1:00 pm on Friday?

I won't get into the long winded story. I had a horrible experience with an online retailer and then I called another retailer and they also close @ 1:00 pm on friday.
Is this normal?

Bars close at like 4am. Some stay open all night.

Everyone in the albany area is open normal hours (if not longer) on friday, saturday on the other hand everything closes early

Probably 0wN3d by the JEWS. They work until NOON on Fridays. Some are even closed. Since NY is the Bethleham for the "new" world I see why they are closed. Try again on Monday, but NY aint that bad... yet..

If the business is run by Orthodox Jews, they'll close earlier on Fridays. They can't work once the Sabbath starts (sundown on Friday). That means you have to be done with your commute by then (strict interpretation).

All businesses owned by the Christians are closed on Sunday.

The long winded story is about a problem I had/am having with a store in NY. It has nothing to do with what time they close. I just noticed this when I ordered form them and subsequently noticed it at another store that I had to call to REORDER the same thing. It just seemed strange to me. But then the one store is also closed on Saturday but Open on Sunday.

It hasn't been a good day.

umm... guess youve never been to Kings Highway... or some other residential area where it is mostly JEWS. They're CLOSED. No Ifs and or BUTS. I'm not generalizing,pfft please Christians... hehe dont they watch football or something? on sundays that why THEY close..
