Does every Duron in the market overclockable?

I want to buy a Duron, but I heard that not every Duron is overclockable because AMD took out the multiplier pins.
Is there any way to get around it if it is the case?
How do I know if the Duron is overclockable when I buy it?
Thanks a lot.

The fuss about the multilpier pins seem to be a hoax. If it's not a mere hoax, then there's no way around it from what i know. You could always do FSB overclock though it's a huge pain and doesn't have much potential on the current KT133 MBs. Unless of course, you get one of those TurboPLL devices on your MB.

As for the overclockablity of a chip, it's rather hard to tell just by looking at it. You gotta try it hands on.

For the most part a unlockable Duron has been a myth. As long as you can short the L1 pins using a high carbon/graphite pencil, which you may have to do it a few times (pencil trick), you should be able to overclock it. For the price you can't beat it. The Asus A7V and Duron is an unbeatable combo as noted in an Tomshardware or Anantech review of all existing KT133 boards. I'm always hear to help. Good luck.

I told my supplier i wanted a overclockable Duron chip, and it became his problem.

He whinned about stability etc, but did the pencil trick for me after supplying him with Anandtechs articles.

Just tell the supplier what you want and he will source it for you, otherwise i believe their are retailers now selling garanteed O/C Durons on the Net right now.
