i think it does, but i cant seem to find any evidence leading to a solid yes/no.

gonna get a 2200+ tomorrow, and put this 800 Tbird to rest.

im kind of out of the loop lately.. so dont laugh too hard at me;)

yeah it should work. when you boot up it might say unidentified cpu or something but it should work at the 2200+ speed.

I know the Pro version (K7S5A)will work with all 266mhz FSB based XP CPUs with latest BIOS,including the latest 1.8 Duron.

A definite Yes, even for the non-pro. As long as the CPU is for 133 MHz bus, it'll work just fine. Mind the increased power and cooling requirements when upgrading, and give the board the latest BIOS _before_ changing the hardware.

So a 2400+ /266 thoroughbred will work then??

buddy of mine has one with a 1ghz Athlon needs an upgrade plays Dark Age of Camelot and they are getting an expansion soon.

he has 512mb of 2100 DDR now which I think he might double it to 1gig soon as well...

We've got 2 2400+s here at home running on k7s5a non pro's and I know someone who's got the 266 fsb 2600 running on one. They didn't even need a bios flash as I recall it (but they're not my systems). Nope, I was there when one got dropped in, no problem with the bios... I think any 266/133 fsb tbred or paly will do ya.
