Oh, don't even start this, you sound like our wonderous government.
Ebay has no major competition for the same reason that Microsoft has no major competition. Because they deliver a better product than anyone else, and do a good job of getting their name out and becoming well known!!! It's called good business!! If they screwed everyone over like they supposedly do, they wouldn't be in business too long, because everyone would either go somewhere else, i.e. Yahoo, or they would find other ways to sell their product.

I dont belive you did, but the fact of the matter is that they are multiple times larger than the competition.

Ok, here we have is uninformed opinion.
MS makes a PRODUCT. Ebay offers a SERVICE.
With Microsoft, major arguments stem as to the validity of their business practices (Bundling IE with an OS for one, and leveraging the use of their product unfairly against the end user without their consent).
With Ebay, they dont screw EVERYONE. They screw a select group, and those that DO get screwed arent usually heard in the same way. They set polices that benefit THEIR bottom line that capitalize off fraudulent acts that occour in THEIR area of "suprivision".

Anyways, I think that eBay needs to get much MUCH more popular, simply for the sellers.
If you look at the profit margins for many things on eBay, a lot of items sell for much much cheaper than their street value is and often times products sell for slightly above wholesale, whereas other products sold through retailers garner a lot of profit, the little businessman on eBay barely gets any profit. The reason? Too much competition amongst sellers, and not enough competition for the buyers. Therefore, the more buyers that go into eBay, the better the profit margins for the eBay sellers, and yet the prices will still be cheaper than street prices at B&M stores and at other online retailers.
