Does Earthlink Cable Block Port 80?

i assumed he meant incomgin too. but then as i thought about it, i overthought it and came to the conculsion that he would ask that because i think it would be obvious that a ISP would nto want to block incoming http traffic as that is the main reason their customers get it.

of course i think i just realized what you meant gunrunner and now i am blushing out of stupidty.

anyways my answer still stands: call their tech support and ask them because the answer might be different for differnet users (for many different reasons)

No, outgoing HTTP is the primary reason users get it. Many national cable systems block incoming 80.

I do this too. I frequently say, "please excuse me while I go over there and finish my other foot" 😀

no, calling earthlink would be easiest, take you 2-5 minutes. simple question even the lowest level tech support can handle.

While fairly straigtforward, there is no way that this would take 2-5 minutes. It will take 30 just to get to tech support. And the 'lowest level' person won't have a clue about ports. They'll simply say 'of course the web will work'.
