Does Dual Channel still work if...

If I have matching 1GB sticks in the yellow slots running them dual channel, what happens if I add only 1GB to a black slot? Does the yellow still run in dual channel?

*Thinking* about Vista, would like at least 3GB of RAM...

It probably won't work, or at the very least fall back to single channel mode.

I don't believe it will work with 3 sticks in. Also, I thought that dual channel was one black and one yellow. Double check that they are even running in dual channel.
