Does DHL shipping from Newegg actually track

Ordered a copy of Vista of Newegg last christmas night, didn't ship friday, went out monday. Now comes today, and there is still no tracking information. What should I take from that? How often, for those who have used DHL before, does DHL update their tracking? Newegg saver shipping sucks, lol.

Why is that? Newegg's shipping is a bit frustrating, they downgraded, and they still do the same thing where they make money off your ordering multiple things together, but still charging up to 7 bucks per item. Sometimes their shipping is awesome, but for an entire system, 60 bucks for decent shipping is a bit ridiculous.

The DHL service that Newegg uses seems to be similar to FedEx's SmartPost or UPS's Mail Innovations service. Might not be the regular Ground service.

Oh, so not only is it a downgraded carrier, but also the minimum of that carrier, that makes sense.

And the thing that frustrates me is it would just be nice to have ANY idea when it might be coming.
 
My order has been sitting in one spot for a few days now.

Just a quick Google search shows that everybody bitches about it.

Im not in a hurry I guess 🙂

Having dealt with many different carriers, DHL holds the crown for worst customer service. Inability to track, drivers lacking paperwork and, bad net presence.
 
I ordered something on 12/30 and it's still sitting around in Edison, NJ. I live about an hour away in PA... it takes 3+ days to travel a distance of a few miles apparently. 😕
 
This may move me towards other Retailers, to tell you the truth. IF newegg didn't still use the philosophy of charging shipping per item regardless of how many, it would make it much more economical, but if I have to pay for newegg save shipping just to have a decent shipping price, it's kinda a deal breaker for me.
 
You cannot track packages in real time with USPS, DHL must have handed it over to them. It's on it's way, slowly via USPS.
 

my order was picked up in TN 12/17, processed in KY 12/18, departed 12/19
arrived in WA on 12/27, at my door 1/2/09

slowest i've ever had anything shipped to me

In the past, I've normally been impressed with how fast orders arrived -- usually faster than estimated

 
I don't think I have ever seen that option. FedEx Express Saver, yes. Maybe I buy the wrong type of things.

Ordered an item last Tuesday that shipped with Eggsaver. Shipped from CA to KY and it's now in PA 7 days later. Strange considering it's headed to MS.

With DHL end domestic service at the end of the month, hopefully Newegg will provide something better.

Like USPS first class mail for light weight items.

Sure. That would be ideal. I think 1st class works for all packages 13oz or less.
