does dell sell body parts??

I hope Dell doesn't sell body parts, that's illegal!

😛

Find the number for Dell Spare Parts, they can probably hook you up.

hopefully i'll find a part for my laptop then...

as for my kidney...guess i gotta go look elsewhere...

anyone with any experience?

hmm.. I want to know, too. I want to replace some scratched parts on my dell. 🙂
haha. interesting way to ask your question >__>

They sell parts for all of their computers. Just call up Dell Spare Parts (don't have the number, but I'm sure you can easily find it if you browse the Dell Community Forum) and they should be able to get what you need. If not, just do a google search, since many companies sell spare OEM computer parts.

I've got a crack at the exact same spot on my i6000.

Yes, Dell sells replacement parts like that, but it will likely be the entire top cover of the laptop.

It should just be the wrist pad that you're replacing, if I'm looking at the right spot. I order replacement parts from dell all the time, I'll try to get a part number for you if you pm me your Service Tag. It shows a complete list of replaceable/servicable parts when I log onto the Dell Warranty Parts Direct page and input a Service Tag.

Edit: nevermind, I saw your using a 700m, I have one sitting around here somewhere, I'll use it's service tag and put up the replacement part numbers.

that would be awwwesome!

Damn, my 700m just went out of warranty on 2/26, so I can't lookup the parts for it. If someone PMs me a service tag for an under warranty 700m, I can get the part numbers. I'll keep looking for another way incase someone doesn't have one that's under warranty. I'd normally just go to my rep but that suckers at IDF this week.

Edit: The part is actually called "Palm Rest Assembly" and it is a field replaceable part, meaning they should be able to sell you one.

This is the out of warranty parts website. for larger business, govt., education and healthcare.

1-800-357-3355, this phone number is for anyone else that doesn't fit into that category.

oh i didnt realize you updated your post...i thought you had forgotten...lol

i'll check this tomorrow when im at work...but u said it doesnt work when your warranty is expired? 🙁
