Does Dell offer discounts for bulk orders?

If I were to order 10 monitors, for example, would they be willing to give me a discount on it? Does anyone know typically how much the discount would be on say a $500 product if you purchased 10 of them?

it depends on what kind of customer you are, and if you've met the price point on the matrix. If you're an average consumer, no discount.

I usually don't purchase anything from Dell. :S

UT buys in bulk from Dell ... 250 19" LCDs, 250 Dual Xeon Workstations, and all the servers needed to run them. Keep in mind that this is my Departments computer lab area. Not even 1% of the computers here.

Yes they do. You have to call them and negotiate a price though. You may do better or worse than just buying online. So make certain you know the lowest price Dell will sell them online before committing.

Last time we ordered computers from dell they sent us like 24 of those personal laser printers as a gift. We can't use them (we have a contract with a company to hand all our printers with MFP's) So they just sit here taking up space while we try to figure out what to do with them.

the guys in home know the margins on the product they're selling. if you buy enough of them, they'll lower the margins so as to get a larger total profit. part of it, though, is getting a sales rep that knows their business. some guy in pakistan may not know it, but a guy in austin might.

I've found that calling them directly for business purchases works best. They have always quoted me much less than what I could get online for large orders.
