Does DDR RAM Need 2.5v?

I was just looking in my mobo manual to see what the highest DDR Ram i could use was. I have a mobo that handles either SDRAM or DDR RAM depending on what you want to use. But you have to change jumper settings to go from one to the other. About a month ago, i made the jump from SDRAM to DDR RAM and changed the necessary jumper settings ... or so i thought. I just now ran across another one that says this:
Pin 1-2 (Short: 3V SDR) (Default)
Pin 1-2 (Open: 2.5V DDR)

I don't think i changed this jumper setting when i changed out the RAM, but the RAM is working fine. Am i killing the RAM by running too much voltage into it? Does it really matter?

Any help is appreciated,
Chris

3v is too high. DDR usually runs stable at 2.6-2.75 depending on the type.

Many Ocer's boost the DDR RAM past 3v's to get peak performance...Just change the RAM jumper back and it should work, then don't worry about it.
