They love each other. Simmons has always had the funniest appearances on Letterman and Howard Stern. Both of them were always merciless on him, but he and Stern were personal friends for a while. After a few particularly brutal appearances, he hadn't been seen on either show in years. Fortunately, he's resurfaced recently.
