does consensual squirrel sex exist?

It always seems like the female is always running away and making mad squirrel noises. Do they ever just make out and do it without having to be run down? Are all male squirrels insensitive bachelors that refuse to settle down with a nice fe-squirrel, and instead want to roam the trees and sew (sp?) their acorns?

See the same things with Ducks too...

No comment on fat walruses...(hey honey, don't smash me!.. Ahhhh!)

No most Animals don't.

They just mate when it's mating season.

There are some animals that have life long mates, but even then they just mate whenever they need to.

I was watching some show on either Animal Planet or the Learning Channel about the mating habits of Tasmanian Devils. You want to see some nasty, non-consentual animal sex, look no further. The male literally beats the crap out of the female and when she's exhausted from defending herself, holds her down with his teeth and claws and mates with her for days. He sits in front of the entrance of the den and won't let her leave until he's sure she's pregnant. If she tries to get past him, he'll attack her until she submits again.

It doesn't help that the Tasmanian Devil has this horrible wailing scream when it's fighting.

only if it's a purple squirrel that eats bark chip #148 from the high point of the tree. then it's fine.

Animal Planet and discovery channel is like porn, just not for humans. And we encourage our kids to watch animals do it?!?
