Does CNPS7000A-Cu fit on dual Opteron boards?

Yes it does. The only difference is that it includes the necessary hardware to mount the heatsink on a SocketA board that has the required mounting holes. The earlier CNPS7000-Cu did not include those brackets and would only fit the Opteron and 478 P4 boards.

Zalman has a Motherboard compatibility list, check it out and see if you can find the board you are talking about.

No, but I've seen it done dozens of times. The Zalman 7000's were designed for Opterons and all the boards were duallies.

I found this at the Zalman site.
CNPS7000(A) is compatible with all socket 754 motherboards.
More information here.

it probably will not fit on the MSI opteron board, as the MSI opteron board one socket is right next to the back of the agp card.

I know they are compatible with 754pin boards, but they did not state they were compatitible with 940pin boards, athough they both seem the same to me.
