Does Cisco Nexus 2000 support trunk ports?

I've read through config guides for Nexus 5000 & 2000, but none of them tells me if the ports on Nexus 2K's support trunk, or how to configure those ports.

On the 5K side, it says to configure them as the fex port, but how do I drop into the individual 2K ports to configure them?

Is there a command such as "interface x/y/z" for these fabric extenders?

Edit:
From the look of some diagrams, the ports can be configured by getting into interface eth x/y/z, x being the fabric extender number.
Still trying to find an official doc that says it's done this way.
We're still waiting for the actual N5K's to be delivered; otherwise I would just try and see if it works, but as of now I don't have it to play w/.

i haven't had the pleasure of working on the Nexus line, and i too cannot find solid documentation. based on these documents, im sure its possible:

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/swi.../guide/rel_4_0_1a/FEX-features.html#wp1046108
The Fabric Extender supports Layer 2 VLAN trunks and IEEE 802.1Q VLAN encapsulation. Host interfaces can be members of private VLANs with the following restrictions:

• You can configure a host interface as an isolated or community access port only.
• You cannot configure a host interface as a promiscuous port.
• You cannot configure a host interface as a PVLAN trunk port.

When you join the Cisco Nexus 2000 Fabic to the 5000, you have to select a fabric number to assign to the 2000 (I have 2 - 2000 connected to my 5020). They are assigned as 100 and 101.

When you configure the ports on the 2000, you'll refer to the interface with the number you assinged, ie interface e100/0/1.

Then the configuration is the same as normal: switchport mode trunk (Remember that the Nexus switches only support 802.1Q trunks so depending on which type of cisco switch you connect it to, you may need to set the encap on the remote end trunk port.

One thing to remember about the Nexus line of swithes. Not all fuctionality is turned on by default. You'll need to enable features like VLANs etc. The Cisco NX-OS configuration guide gives you all the information needed.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/docs/swi...Series_NX-OS_Software_Configuration_Guide.pdf

Hope this helps.

You assign a FEX number to each 2k, beyond that the 2k cannot be connected to another switch downstream. The FEX behave as a blade for the upstream 5k

For Nexus 1000v, the Installation guide states:
Configure port mirroring
1 On The Cisco Nexus 1000V vSwitch, specify the server ports to monitor as the source ports.
2 On the Cisco Visual Switch Manager, identify the interface on which the AppSpeed probe was added to
the port group (for example, Vethernet1) and specify that interface as the destination port.

thank you all for the responses.
We actually installed our Nexus 5K's & 2K's two weeks ago, and figured out the details.
I've been swamped and didn't have a chance to post the result....

One caveat that wasn't mentioned above is that Nexus only supports LACP or on, and not PAcP any more.
