Does cheap DDR memory exist?

Apparently, one stick of 512mb memory that i have in my computer has always had an erorr. Ok, fine...but somehow, another stick that NEVER had an error has one now (in memtest)! How is this possible? They were both perfectly fine when i tested them before.

Since i'm broke and now my computer keeps restarting, is there anyway i could find cheap ass memory (512-1gb)?

Your best bet is probably to check the For Sale/For Trade forums or craigslist. It will take a little bit of luck though. When I needed a cheap stick of 512MB, I managed to find one on craigslist from an IT service that was closing down for $11.
