Made a couple of music cd burns with my iomega external usb zip 650 drive and the sound quality is not exactly the same. I thought digital was digital and the media shouldnt matter. Can anyone enlighten me please. currently using cheepo prime peripheral stuff.
I tried direct cd to cdr copying,I tried creating a image first in my hardrive still not the same quality in sound (sounds almost the same but lacks clarity)

I am using adaptec easy cd creator. I know nero is better but dont have the bucks to buy the software just yet.

Please enlighten a poor soul

IF the copy was properly done (not always the case), it will sound exactly the same.

Well some crapier media and/or crappy burners can sound worse than well burnt discs. Thats because errors are burnt onto the disc, so Error Correction has to guess what the data should be like. This causes the sound to not sound as good as it should.
