No im not , The cat 5 Was an Blue cable i made myself with the Crimper it is 65 Meters long going from Floor 1 to Floor 3 in my house , it has lasted 4 years now , so i think an upgrade IS needed as it looks terrible .

I bought the Cat6a because it was available and it was white , Difference in the MHz ranges was only in the ebay discription so i thought i'd mention it as i know nothing about Network cables i was curious .

I asked a very Simple Question and a very simple only Needs a very simple answer The End , no sighs . [ Boomhauer ] Its know it alls like you that prevent people asking questions incase they get ridiculed .

Well if you're putting your own ends on it it is most likely category nothing. If it was purchased from a reputable manufacturer and is NOT stranded cable it's good but be careful not to bend or crimp it too much.

If this is solid core cat6a cabling then put it in appropriate cat6a jacks and use store bought cat6a patch cables.

Also, if the cable was really beat up then it is very likely you were suffering performance problems and the move to replace it is a good idea.

Thank you for the reply , the New Cat 6a cable is all moulded jacks , no crimping just unwrap & plug and surf .

Cheers bye .
