Does canon, or anyone else make some free simple photo touch up software?

This is exactly what you are looking for right out of beta. Paint.net 2.5

It is free and opensourced.

It is powerful, does simple photo manipulations, and has layers and other effects that will grow with you.

I use it for quick touch ups in lieu of photoshop which I have, because this opens in like 1/2 sec on my system.

Nikon had one and it had a cool feature which enhanced the colors with one click.
I am not sure how it figured out what to do, but it really improved things.

My Canon printer and camera both came with free bundled software for photo editing and printing. It's decent for free, but not worth paying for if you don't already have a Canon printer or camera.
