Does Canon make any printers that still use BCI-3eBK ink?

So my trusty old i550 has kicked the dust. I don't know why, but now it seems it can't recognize the print head anymore. I tried cleaning it using directions I found online and resetting the eeprom, but it still won't recgonize it. Kind of sucks because I haven't printed around a month or so.

Anyways Im now in the following position...I could buy anothe print head for like 65 bucks (as seen here http://www.precisionroller.com...t_head/m114d5907c104/) and that MAY fix my problem...or it MAY NOT

Or I could push an extra 30-40 dollars and get a new printer.

Now I sitll have a lot of BCI-3eBK ink I got from swift ink http://www.swiftink.com/product-p/bci-3ebk.htm and I don't want it to go to waste. I tried looking at the list they had, and it seems that none of these printers are even made anymore. I wasn't able to find them on amazon or bestbuy's website.

Outside of buying used (which I want to avoid but may look into if the price on places like craig's list is cheap enough) am I simply SOL and need to buy a new printer?

If that is the case, I want to follow through with the sub heading of my title. What good cheap printers exist? I'm not going to be doing any crazy printing or need the accuracy or the beautiful photos. I'm not in school anymore so the only time I really print things are stuff like online coupons.

wow. you know your printer had a good life when you can't even find any members of its family on ebay. i bought my sister an i850 years ago. i have no idea what she did with it. i would definitely send it to you if i knew.

just for fun, keep an eye on this. there's a chance no one is looking for/likely to find this old thing

cheap enough that it makes sense to get your ink's worth, and then you can either get an updated printer later, or not.

if you want a brand new canon i'd say PIXMA iP4600
