I did fine in calc 1 so should I expect calc 2 to be manageable? I keep hearing it's worse...
We did diff. eq. stuff in calc 1. Not very involved, though.Originally posted by: TheLonelyPhoenix
They're about the same. And neither of them has anything on Differential Equations or even Multivariable, so enjoy it while it lasts.

@ my school, Calc 2 was the weed out course...I mean big time weed out, at least 60% of the class failed...they wanted to get rid of engineers then, I managed a C, with about a 50%, and I studied my a$$ off. If yours is anything like mine...Good Luck, you'll need it

Or buy your textbook early and start working the problem sets.I need some online links so I can start some self-teaching.

I stopped working ahead after a few classes since it made the class time a bit boring and it almost seemed like cheating to always know the answer to evey question that the instructor asked the class. It was more interesting to try to learn "on the fly" first then study the book later to fill in any gaps.

Implicit is WAY early in the year. This we did at the end, and yes, it was equations with derivatives in them. An equation with derivatives that describes a real-world situation and then working backwards to figure out the main equation.....or something......eh I forget.Originally posted by: eigen

LOL...at my school...Discrete Math was the weed out course. The enrollment dropped from 35 or so to about 15 after the first 3 weeks, and we ended up with 6 people at the end of the semester.
