does Brand matters for Smart Media?

I can pick either viking, Simple, kingston, delkin, verbatim... does it matter?

It really only matters for price and warranty stuff.
Some SM cards support "extra" features, like you must use an Olympus Card in an Olympus dig camera to use the panoramic mode.

i would assume that compact flash is the same also? i have a lexar and a kodak and seem the exact same to me as far as i know (except the lexar has that 4x usb thing which is nifty). but i assume as long as it has the CF logo then it is approved and are almost all the same?
