Does Best Buy price matching apply to video games?

Unfortunately, all my little cousin wants for his birthday is GTA: San Andreas for Xbox. I've tried to convince him otherwise, but he still wants it... and his parents say it's ok for him to have it.

So my question is, since CompUSA has it for $30 this week, will Best Buy match that price? I looked online at their price match conditions and it lists some things it applies to, and video games aren't one of them. Best Buy is only 5 miles away, and CompUSA is like 15 miles away... I'd rather get it at Best Buy.

Does GameStop price match?

They (Best Buy) should be able to pricematch to CompUSA. I've done it hundreds of times, both during and post-sales.

(Difference is if you do it after you buy, you get 110% of price difference.)

Edit: And no, I don't believe Gamestop pricematches.

BB will price match video games. But they will give you the 10% discount only if you buy it, and then bring it to the customer service desk and ask them to price match, otherwise you just get it for the same price.

Do I need to bring in the CompUSA ad as proof?

Yes. Also be prepared that BB might call CUSA to see if it's in stock, so call CUSA to make sure it's in stock before you go to BB.

BB will normally call the other location to see if they have it for sale (Can't bave rebates, has to be out the door price) and to verify that it's in Stock. Then they should PM it for you. But on weekly sales lots of times they already know about it and just bringing in the ad is fine.

Damn... they don't. They expect more Wednesday. :|

*EDIT* Oh well... at least Rockstar won't be getting any of my money. 😀

How old is the kid? If he's under the age when he should be playing it.. Use some common sense and get him something else. Jsut because his parent's are dumb enough to give a game like that to a little kid, doesn't mean you should encourage it.

He's 12... maybe I'll get him a 3 month Xbox Live kit so he can play Forza online with me.

Just bring in CUSA's ad to BB and show it to the cashier when you check out, so you buy it for the same price.

When they do that, I've never had any problems, and they don't ever call.

The only people that call are the CSRs AFTER you buy the game and try to pricematch to get the 110% price difference.

So just present to the cashier, and you should be fine.
