Does beer get damaged when it is frozen?

Hey all,

My beer froze yesterday (-22C in Toronto!). I drank some today and it tasted a little off. Did freezing/thawing mess it up? What should I do?

Not bad actually. It tastes better after the 3rd or 4th beer.

For some reason the Carling thawed faster than the Carlsberg. 😕

Perhaps Carlsberg has a higher EtOH content?

As long as you don't get one of those Cold-Warm-Cold beers you should be safe.

😕

Beer that started out cold (when purchased) then managed to get warm, then put back in the fridge again. They are always a little off.

Nah, this is "Cold-Frozen-Cold" beer. 48 of them. I have a feeling the phenomenon is similar though. It just dosen't taste right.

Just FYI, *NEVER* open a frozen beer! It will erupt like a volcano for like 30 minutes!:frown:
