Does BB and Fry's allow refunds of items without receipts?

I did as best a search as I could but couldn't find a previous post about this.

Probably not a refund but perhaps a store credit? TIA

Not entirely certain. It was a gift and the giver doesn't remember which place she bought it at. Unfortunately it wasn't around xmas either so I don't think think my chances are too great. It was never opened and I'm pretty certain BB has the exact model still in stock.

BB will. They will do two things however. You are only allowed 2 returns per year with out a receipt and they will give you store credit only.
And they will check for the lowest price of that item that they have offered recently, and that will be what you receive.
