does avira free not do automatic system scans?

it shows my computer has never been scanned, and i cant figure out how to enable it if its indeed available.

Mine does it weekly by default. Perhaps its your settings.

1. Bring up the main AntiVir window (e.g. double-click on the Guard icon).
2. Click on the Administration header in the left column.
3. Click on Scheduler.
4. Configure a scheduled scan, or check the one to run at 12:00 every day.
